Nurse Practitioner Mariel Salais is from West Texas, growing up in a close-knit active El Paso, Texas community. She learned at a young age that programs that kept youth involved and active no matter their socioeconomic status, created a healthier future and outcome for all.

NP Salais started her medical career as a Pharmacy Technician desiring to learn more about healthcare and how she could make a positive impact in her community. She later embarked on the journey to become a Nurse Practitioner, knowing that she could provide competent compassionate patient care, while educating and empowering patients to make confident healthy healthcare decisions. NP Salais received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at The University of Texas Health Science Center of San Antonio Texas and her Master of Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, from the University of Texas at Arlington.

In 2021 NP Salais started with Gonzaba Medical Group, because GMG’s mission also aligns with hers, always looking for ways to improve the health of her community, while providing exceptional healthcare. “Healthcare is a basic human right and at Gonzaba Medical Group they make that a priority”, says NP Salais.

In NP Salais’ free time she enjoys spending time with her family and practicing archery, “it’s great for hand-eye coordination and focus. Spending time with my family is also so important to me, they are my biggest interest.”
