Dr. Cantu was born and raised in South Texas. When she’s not working to improve the health of her patients, she’s maintaining her own. She loves going to the gym to workout in her spare time and likes to take Zumba classes. Dr. Cantu also enjoys watching tennis and spending time with her friends and family.
Since childhood, Dr. Cantu has dreamed of becoming a doctor. She has always been a person who loved to get to know others and is passionate about bettering the lives of those she meets.
Throughout her career, Dr. Cantu has advocated and fought for each of her patients to receive the best care. She believes that Gonzaba’s philosophy of treating each patient like family and their mission to do the right thing aligns perfectly with her patient goals. She joined the GMG team in 2017.

She focuses on her patients and wants the best for them.. she doesn't judge me or make me feel like I'm wasting her time . Honestly other gonzaba doctor dumped me on her because I was complaining about the long wait. I've been left in room waiting over 30 mins once an hour so I complained and next thing I knew I was told Dr. Cantu was a new doctor to gonzaba and maybe she has the time since her workload was low its been over 3 years and Dr. Cantu has only been positive and always smiles and makes me feel like my healthcare is important..long story short you won't regret if you select her as your primary doctor. Very clean and caring staff. The only think I see is that the clerks that check you in and take all your information, they never have a smile. They greet you, but a smile would help. The staff they greet you very courteous and guide to the right direction. they always have a smile. I feel invited and cared for. Dr Judy Cantu is the best PCP I have ever had. She always makes time to talk with me and explains what I need to do to get better. For instance she has been advising me to quit smoking for a good while now. We I finally did quit. I told her in order for me to quit cold turkey, I have to pick a date and follow through. Dr. Cantu is my 83 year old dad's doctor. He moved from Brooklyn and she has been the only doctor that he feels he can trust. She cares period. She is super smart and very diligent. She doesn't leave any situation unresolved. Wonderful personality. She's awesome! If I wasn't military, she'd be my doctor for sure! My visits to Dr. Jury Cantu's office are always like a walk on the park. I dont feel like I'm going to a Doctors appointment what I mean by that is like walking at the park with my best friend and I can talk to her about anything. The medical field for the last 3yrs has became more complicated due to the pandemic and my primary Dr. Jury Cantu has managed to put her own personal and professional hurdles and focus on the well being of her patients. We had a phone visit due to the COIVD -19 down time and she went over my Lab report in detail and recommended I start on a cholesterol med. & she sent the prescription over to my pharmacy CVS. I am very impressed with Dr Cantu's bedside manner. She is very personably and a very comprehensive dr. She is knowledgeable and allows for ones input and allows for a patient to participate into their own plan of care.
