Dr. Luis Bieler is an Internal Medicine doctor, bringing with him over 40 years of medical experience. Born and raised in Santiago de Cali, Colombia, he moved to the United States in 1990 to continue his medical education. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Universidad del Cauca in Popayán, Colombia before going on to obtain his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at New York Medical College, Lincoln Medical & Mental Center in the Bronx, New York in 1996. Growing up he had a devout love for biology and science, knowing that he wanted to make a positive impact on people and his patients, “I have shared with my patients, their suffering, their happiness and during their office visits, I want them to see me as a friend of life, like them, like part of my extended family. I love the emphasis that Gonzaba gives on treating our patients Como Familia, Like Family”. Prior to joining Gonzaba, Dr. Bieler served San Antonians on the South Side at Southwest General Hospital, practicing throughout South Texas, both in Alice TX and San Antonio TX. Dr. Bieler joined Gonzaba Medical Group in 2025. He has a passion and specialty in  musculoskeletal disorders. He treats minor conditions like the common cold to complex conditions, in collaboration with many specialties, including cardiology, dermatology, neurology, rheumatology, diabetes, high blood pressure, and much more. In his free time, Dr. Bieler is an avid cyclist, enjoys cooking, and loves learning new languages. He’s currently practicing and learning how to prefect the German language. Being home in Texas for over 20 years, he loves the people of San Antonio, reminding him of the warm people of Colombia. Dr. Bieler is fluent in both English and Spanish.
