Rivera, Cristina MD
Rivera, Cristina MD
Dr. Rivera was born in Chihuahua City, Mexico and raised in Parral, Mexico. Growing up, she had the tradition of going downtown to enjoy delicious food with her grandparents every Sunday. Many people in her family were doctors, and she was fascinated by the stories they told. She always wanted to learn more about the human body and how it works to keep us alive, which is why she went into medicine.
Dr. Rivera earned her Bachelor of Science in Medicine from the Universidad Autonoma de Chihuahua in Chihuahua City, Mexico. She interned at Hospital Central Universitario, and completed her residency in Family Medicine at Texas Tech University in Odessa, Texas. She chose to specialize as a Family Physician because she wants to get to know the whole family, from grandparents to grandkids, and foster a genuine connection that comes with seeing her patients often.
Her patients describe her as “compassionate, caring, and diligent.” Dr. Rivera goes above and beyond to make sure that her patients’ health care and well-being are a top priority.
When she is not working, Dr. Rivera enjoys spending time outdoors or exploring new places with her husband, daughter, and her dog Choco. She also loves to travel back to Mexico and visit friends and family.
She is fluent in English and Spanish.
