Lavonna Zavala, FNP-C, is a Family Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of nursing experience. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing from Texas State University in Round Rock, TX and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Prairie View A&M University in Houston, TX.

NP Zavala began her career in the neonatal ICU and as a Home Health Care Manager serving South Texas. She managed treatment for clients with diagnoses including hypertension, heart attack, stroke, and chronic pain. She is experienced in clinical and hospital settings as a nurse for neonatal, pediatric, obstetrics, and gynecology units, as well as general family medicine.

With this robust background, NP Lavonna Zavala joined Gonzaba Medical Group in 2023. She brings with her a deep expertise in caring compassionately and effectively communicating with her patients and caregivers. In addition to managing patients’ physical wellbeing, NP Zavala excels in building relationships with patients and their families. She prioritizes building trust between her patients, their families, and their medical team.

NP Zavala is board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Other credentials include membership in the San Antonio Nurses in Advanced Practice, Texas Nurse Practitioners, and the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society.
