About Gonzaba Medical Group

Our Mission

To provide an innovative system of medical care that delivers with integrity every day.

Our History

Gonzaba Medical Group’s founder, William Gonzaba, M.D., started his family practice in 1960 on South Flores Street, not far from the neighborhood where he was born and raised. In the early 1980s, he brought in additional doctors to help him with a growing patient population. Soon, the doctors outgrew their South Flores clinic. Dr. Bill Gonzaba looked a few blocks down the street to the old Pan American Restaurant building and decided to give the landmark building a new life in the healthcare industry.

What are the typical clinic hours for providers?

Our providers work primarily a Mon – Fri, 8 AM – 5 PM schedule.  There are opportunities to open Saturday clinic hours to concentrate on areas of interest to the provider and your patient base.  You can also work additional hours in our Urgent Care Centers.

Will I be required to rotate between your locations?

You will normally practice at one location and treat your panel of patients.  Our goal is continuity of care and building the patient – provider relationship.  Occasionally you could be asked to assist with a short term change due to a business need but we do everything to keep these occurrences to a minimum.

What is the typical patient volume?

Most of our providers see in the mid to upper teens (16 – 19) patients per day. Your individual panel will start out smaller as you learn our processes. It will gradually grow from there. If your abilities and desires dictate a larger patient flow each day, we can adjust your template. Our goal is to provide value (quality) to each patient we see.

What benefits are offered to physicians?

  • Competitive salaries and generous bonus program.
  • Affordable medical, dental & vision insurance.
  • Generous paid-time-off benefit.
  • CME allowance and time off.
  • 401K with company matching.
  • Malpractice insurance (occurrence coverage).
  • Opportunity to teach and mentor.
  • Great team environment.

How does the credentialing process work?

It will vary depending on whether you are fully licensed (TX license, DPS and DEA) or not. Typically for a fully licensed physician it takes 2 – 3 months; for someone with only a Texas license 3 -4 months; if you have no Texas license process for licensure and credentialing could take from 6 – 8 months.

We have a fully staffed credentialing department who will work with and assist you throughout this process ensuring your ability to see and bill appropriately for the care you will provide to Gonzaba Medical Group patients.
